River Mersey Guided Walk & Litter Pick: Mersey Valley Way, Stockport

Friday 23 January 2026

Blow off the new year cobwebs or tick off a new year's resolution with a free guided walk and litter pick along the River Mersey in Stockport.

📅 Date & Time: Friday 23 January, 10:30 am – 1.00pm
📍 Venue:  Start and finish at Stockport Interchange, Stockport, SK1 1NU

5km walk along the River Mersey on the newly announced Mersey Valley Way.  The walk will be mostly on the flat and on good quality paths with no stiles.  We will be walking at a slow pace as we will be doing some litter picking as we walk and pointing out interesting facts about the river along the way.
