Outfall Safari Training for Citizen Scientists

Thursday 28 January. Join us for an online training session for the public to learn about outfall safari citizen science river surveys

Outfall Safari Training teaches hands-on identification, inspection, and documentation of stormwater outfalls and other polluting discharges.  

This evening online webinar by Mersey Rivers Trust provides practical instruction on identifying, inspecting, and documenting stormwater outfalls. The training covers outfall characteristics, indicators of illicit discharges, and applicable stormwater regulations. Participants learn observation techniques, sampling approaches, and reporting best practices to support effective monitoring, regulatory compliance, and water-quality protection, delivered through an interactive virtual format.
