Paddle your way along the Mersey
We have worked in partnership with Paddle UK to refresh the River Mersey Paddle Trail from Heaton Mersey (Stockport) to Carrington (Trafford) in Greater Manchester, funded by the UK Government.
The trail runs alongside most of the Mersey Valley Way on the north bank of the River Mersey.
Access agreements are in place for paddlers to use the River Mersey along the Paddle Trail. There are various portage locations along the trail so you can decide how far you wish to paddle.
Several organisations on the Mersey Paddle Trail offer paddle instruction and hire, plus guided trips.

Water Adventure Centre Charity
The Water Adventure Centre Charity operates free kayak, canoe and paddle board sessions for young people aged 8 to 19, with priority for young people living in the local Merseybank Estate but other young people from Manchester are welcome to attend.
